Betsy has been with Group Benefit Strategies for 15 years and has over 25 years of experience in consulting for health and welfare plans, as well as qualified retirement plans. She is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, a Chartered Life Underwriter, certified in PPACA expertise and is on the advisory board of a national retirement plan provider. Betsy’s background with insurance companies brings a large service organization expertise while maintaining personal relationships with each client.
Charlie W. Moseley, CLU®
Charlie has over 30 years of experience of employee benefits expertise. He’s been a Chartered Life Underwriter since 1982 and is a former President of the local chapter. He’s also a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and served for over 20 years on the BlueCross BlueShield of SC Agent Advisory Board. Charlie’s personal and civic activities include President of the FU Paladin Club, a Partner in Hope for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and a Vietnam combat veteran who served in the 101st Airborne.
David G. Ellison, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®
Dave Ellison has 36 years of experience in insurance with five years prior banking experience after obtaining an MBA. Dave is active in the Greenville community, having served for 20 years as a trustee of Furman University including two years as board chair. He is currently a director of Southern First Bank and has been an active volunteer for many years for the United Way of Greenville County.
Rose M. Pelfrey, MHP, HIA®, PPACA Certified
Senior Account Manager
Rose has been with Group Benefit Strategies since 1997 and has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her focus is on benefits plan administration and service and works closely with group administrators to assist them with all aspects of their benefit plans. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and is active in the local Piedmont Association of Health Underwriters. She is certified in PPACA expertise and certified for Medicare Advantage plans with several carriers.
Shannon G. Anthony, PPACA Certified
Senior Account Manager
Shannon joined Group Benefit Strategies in 2005 bringing with her nearly 10 years of unique customer service and sales support experience. She has experience in national and international business administration including employee benefits. She holds her South Carolina insurance licenses as well as her Series 6 and 63 securities licenses. Her primary role is to help manage the administration and support of our clients with group benefits with a special focus on 401(k) and retirement plan administration. Shannon is certified in PPACA expertise, is a member of the National Health Underwriters Association and is active in the local Piedmont Association of Health Underwriters.
Jeanelle P. Smith
Director of Benefits Administration
Jeanelle has been with Group Benefit Strategies since 2010. She holds her South Carolina Health, Accident & Life insurance license and is our resident “Jack of All Trades.” Not only is she responsible for managing the day to day operations of our office, but she also assists with the administration of our group and 401(k) accounts. In addition, she is our Individual Account Specialist and is instrumental in the ACA Open Enrollment each year.
